The screen freezes and you pick what to capture: a region, a window, a whole screen, or just the web page in your browser, without its tabs and toolbars.
Pixel-perfect regions
Drag a region, then fine-tune it with handles or the arrow keys. A magnifier shows every pixel, its position and its colour.
Mark it up
Arrows, outlines, highlights, a spotlight, text and numbered steps. Blur or black out anything private: it can’t be undone in the saved file.
Copied and saved at once
Every capture goes straight to the clipboard, ready to paste, and is saved as a PNG in your Pictures\ClearSnap folder.
Everything in History
Find any capture again by day, search for it, drag it into an email or document, or open it to change its notes later.
Private by design
No account, no cloud, no tracking. Your captures never leave your PC; the only thing ClearSnap asks the internet is whether there’s a new version.
Works across several monitors, even when they’re set to different scaling. In Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox, one click captures just the page; hold Shift for the whole window.

- Press Print Screen. The screen freezes, so menus and tooltips stay put while you choose.
- Pick what to capture. Click a window or web page, drag a region, or press F for the whole screen.
- Paste it, or mark it up first. It’s already on the clipboard and saved. Open it in the editor to add arrows, steps or a blur.

Try it free for 14 days
ClearSnap is free to try for 14 days from the first time you run it. After that it needs a licence key, linked to your email address. The key is checked on your PC and works offline: nothing is sent anywhere.
